For the final project of our first year of engineering, we were tasked with creating a device to aid our client who suffers from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. We noted that he often has trouble using a computer mouse, so our group decided to create an ergonomic trackball mouse that can alleviate the strain in his fingers and hand and eradicate the strain in his shoulder.
We used a 3D printer to create the structure of our mouse while rewiring an existing mouse circuit that we took apart to fit into our project. We ran into some trouble with the buttons, but I’m really proud of the final result!
